CHRONOLOGY
1970-73
Moves to Columbus, Ohio to teach at Ohio State. Meets Hoyt Sherman, Larry Camp, and Cherie McGilligut. Making Plexiglas constructions with cotton cloud forms, then a change to enamel spray paint on muslin backed seamless paper.
1971
Exhibits Cloud Constructions at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, Minnesota, a one person show. Appears in a group shows at Gallery Chat Bernard, Chicago, IL and the Martin Gallery of Minneapolis, MN.
1972
Meets Sol LeWitt. Summer; lives in loft of Michael Torlen in Soho, New York City. Fall of ’72, exhibits in Hopkins Hall Gallery, O.S.U., Columbus, Ohio to break with the Plexiglas constructions. Made rope clouds, wire clouds, feather clouds, and cargo parachute clouds. Made an environment of clouds for live sheep and hired an airplane that carried a sign around in the sky saying CLOUD. Appears in a group exhibition at Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.
1973-76
Moves to New York City; takes over loft from Mel Kendrick and shares space with writer and friend from graduate school, Suzanne McConnell. Teaches at New York University, Tisch, School of the Arts. Teaches class in Perception for Cinematographers, Actors, and Dancers with composer, Peter Phillips and Labon Notation specialist and dancer, Kayla Zalk. Starts working with acrylic paint. Images are of clouds with secondary animal images.
1974
Meets Julian Weissman at Magoo’s, an artist bar in Tribeca.
